Faces are incredibly captivating. Subtle expressions can tell an intriguing, unforgettable story. I am drawn to unique faces with unusual features, or people with unconventional beauty.
I became interested in painting at age 13, when a local artist introduced me to Art Nouveau, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Cubism. These styles were to ultimately become very influential on my paintings.
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art with a concentration in painting and printmaking and later earned an additional degree in graphic design. My paintings often feature distorted, circus-like characters that possess the unconventional beauty that I find so intriguing.
I also have a fascination for the art of the Day of the Dead and Mexican folk art, which is exhibited through my paintings and illustrations for my greeting cards.
